Biography

My lines of research focus on Relational Developmental Systems in emerging adulthood and the underlying mechanisms of close relationships throughout the lifespan. In addition to supporting a variety of studies related to attachment(s) in the Gillath Lab, I am investigating the roles attachment and interaction styles play in the pursuit and acquisition of developmental and relational assets.

Prior to pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, I was the CEO of Spark Policy Institute, a research and evaluation firm recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing private firms in the United States. In this position, I led teams on complex systems-level research and evaluation projects for foundations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Notable projects include the BUILD Health Collaborative, MFH Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative, Entreprenuer's Policy Network, Collective Impact's Effect on Institutions, and the Colorado Social Emotional Learning Initiative.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Master's degree in Business Administration, am ABD toward a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, and have a graduate certificate in the Mind, Brain, and Education. I also hold Gottman Couple's Method Clinical I & II, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, DiSC Insights, Hogan Assessments, Data Science in R, and LinkedIn Learning Administrator certifications.

My passion is in making social science practical and accessible, a passion I pursue through my company BE Journaling.
